The fourth annual Alameda Studio Tour was held Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014. There were 42 artists that participated and the weather was ideal, which allowed visitors a nice weekend to visit many of the 17 studio locations. The wide range of art for sale included paintings, pottery, jewelry, recycled art, fused glass, mixed media, folk art dolls, and clothing fashioned from Alpaca and Llama wool.
History of the Studio Tour
In 2011, a group of Alameda artists got together and formed the first annual Alameda Studio Tour with twenty-five artists opening their studios to the public, inspiring, educating, and offering their work for sale. The event was a great success, and as a result is now in its fourth year.
The Alameda artists will donate a portion of their proceeds to Art in the School, a non-profit art education organization which benefits children in Albuquerque.
